VIRTUAL MOU SIGNING CEREMONY BETWEEN UNIVERSITAS POTENSI UTAMA (UPU) AND NORTHERN ILOILO STATE UNIVERSITY (NISU), PHILIPPINES

On May 7, 2025, Universitas Potensi Utama (UPU) and Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) held a Virtual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony via Zoom Meeting. The event aimed to strengthen institutional cooperation and open avenues for future collaboration in various academic and research fields.

The ceremony was attended by the President of Northern Iloilo State University along with university officials, as well as the Rector of Universitas Potensi Utama and her delegation. The event began with an opening prayer, the national anthems of Indonesia and the Philippines, followed by the screening of university profile videos from both institutions.

In her remarks, the Rector of Universitas Potensi Utama, Prof. Dr. Rika Rosnelly, S.Kom, M.Kom, expressed her delight with the establishment of this partnership. She emphasized that the signing of the MoU represents a significant step in supporting UPU's vision and mission to become a leading institution in science and technology, actively contributing both nationally and internationally. UPU is committed to providing high-quality education encompassing teaching, research, and community service.

Likewise, Dr. Bobby D. Gerardo, President of Northern Iloilo State University, warmly welcomed the partnership. He expressed his pleasure in having UPU as a partner from the Sumatra region, noting that NISU had previously established collaborations with several universities in Java. He highlighted the importance of inter-university cooperation to complement each institution’s strengths and to address common challenges.
